Many Balaclava buildings hold several uses at once: a shop or café at street level, apartments above, an arcade or lane beside it and a car park behind. Each part can have a different owner, a different alarm and a different set of keys.
TeamSignal Security is a full-service security provider with one of Victoria's largest mobile patrol fleets, so the electronic and the physical side can come from one place. We install alarm and CCTV systems, arrange back-to-base monitoring, attend alarm activations and run patrols, with on-site security officers where a site needs someone present. Every client has a dedicated account manager.
We are not tied to one alarm brand. The system is chosen to suit the building, the budget and how people use it.
Shared buildings. Inner Range Inception combines the alarm with access control, so a landlord or owners corporation can manage who uses shared doors and when.
Single shops and cafés. Ajax is simple to operate day to day, without technical knowledge.
Cameras. CCTV can be placed to cover entries, rear doors and car parks, using equipment from providers including Bosch, Hikvision and Dahua.
Monitoring. Back-to-base monitoring through a professional monitoring centre, with activations passed to our officers where alarm response is included.
Council has proposed Carlisle Street as one of three locations for new public CCTV, funded by a $1.5 million Australian Government grant. Installation is planned in stages in 2027, with footage linked to St Kilda Police Station.
Public cameras are for public places. They do not:
Your own alarm, cameras, monitoring and response arrangements still cover your premises. We can review what you have and recommend what to add.
Carlisle Street’s cafés, bars and restaurants host private functions, and local traders have run Balaclava Boogie, a free music festival across Carlisle Street venues, since 2023.
Event security can cover access management, crowd observation, restricted areas and incident response, for a single venue or for an event spread across several. Give us the venues, dates, times and expected numbers.
In September 2025, Council voted to sell about 2,240 square metres of car park land and laneways next to the Coles supermarket to Coles. Woolworths owns the former council car park on Camden Street. Council says future development on the Coles site must keep the same amount of free public parking and include housing, new open space and public toilets. No construction dates have been announced.
If these sites are redeveloped, parking, lanes and rear access behind the strip are likely to change during the works. When they do, we update your response instructions, patrol routes and camera coverage with you.
Our approach is set out in our service philosophy and process.
Tell us what kind of premises or building you have, how it is used and when it is empty. Useful details include the address, who owns or manages each part, your existing alarm and camera systems and whether you need coverage for one tenancy or a whole building.

Yes. We can install the alarm and cameras, arrange back-to-base monitoring, attend activations and run patrols, with one account manager for the whole arrangement.
It depends on the building and how it is used. For example, Inner Range Inception suits buildings that need access control on shared doors, and Ajax suits sites that want a system that is simple to operate. We recommend one after looking at your site.
Yes. Each part can have its own instructions and contacts, and an access control system can manage shared doors.
We provide event security for functions and public events, covering access management, crowd observation, restricted areas and incident response. Share the venues, date, hours and how many people you expect.
Every client has a dedicated account manager. They know your site and requirements, and they handle questions and changes, so you are not explaining your situation to someone new each time.
Yes. Static guards can be stationed at a building, arcade or venue for agreed shifts to manage access and respond to incidents.
